The current is swift,
Boats and buoys await
Their inevitable settling
Onto mud shaped by the tide’s pull.
Seagull squawks, rides the current.
Transition bewteen one tranquil scene
Into the next: beached boats and navy pools.
We watch transfixed yet not surprised.
